WhatsApp Integration

The WhatsApp module lets you send messages to congregants via WhatsApp directly from the system — including group messages, scheduled messages, automatic replies, and Torah reading announcements.

Connecting a WhatsApp Account​

  1. Navigate to WhatsApp in the menu.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Scan the displayed QR code using WhatsApp on your phone (Settings → Linked Devices → Link a Device).
  4. Wait for connection confirmation — the status will change to Connected.
tip

If the QR code expires, click Refresh QR to get a new code.

Sending Messages​

Message to a Group​

  1. Select a group from the group list (click Refresh to update the list).
  2. Type the message content.
  3. Click Send.

Message to an Individual​

  1. Enter the phone number (in international format, e.g., 972501234567).
  2. Write the message.
  3. Click Send.

Advanced Content​

You can also send:

  • Photos and files — Send media to a group or individual.
  • Location — Share the synagogue's location.
  • Contact — Share a contact card.
  • Poll — Create a poll in a group.

Scheduled Messages​

  1. Navigate to the Scheduled Messages tab.
  2. Click Schedule New Message.
  3. Configure:
    • Message content
    • Group / recipient
    • Send date and time
  4. The message will be sent automatically at the scheduled time.

You can cancel a scheduled message at any time before the send date.

Automatic Replies​

Set up automatic reply rules for incoming messages:

  1. Navigate to Automatic Reply Rules.
  2. Click Create New Rule.
  3. Configure:
    • Trigger condition — Keywords or message pattern.
    • Reply — The message content to send back.
  4. Save the rule.

The rule will automatically apply to incoming messages that match the condition.

Group Management​

  • View groups — List of all groups connected to the account.
  • Add members — Add phone numbers to a group.
  • Remove members — Remove from the group.
  • Promote/demote admin — Change group member permissions.

Torah Reading Announcements​

Send an updated Torah reading list directly to a WhatsApp group:

  1. Navigate to Publish Aliyot.
  2. Select the reading list (from the Torah reading module).
  3. Click Publish — the list will be sent to the selected group.

Contact Aliases​

You can set aliases for contacts to easily identify phone numbers in incoming messages:

  • Navigate to Aliases and add a phone number + alias.

Settings​

  • WhatsApp prayer time settings — Configure which times are sent automatically.
  • Notification channels — Choose which message types are sent via WhatsApp.

Statistics​

On the statistics page you can view:

  • Number of messages sent and read.
  • Message history with status filtering.
  • Incoming messages with search and filtering.
